FA status?

[edit]

This can seriously become an FA in the near future, if it included the proper sources. --Madchester 20:06, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's almost an overabundance of photos - some clean-up may be a good idea, eh? And what's with the "still wet from Hurricane Katrina" quote? It makes it sound like Toronto was affected by that more than from any other rain. Krupo 03:44, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They gave out free tickets that year to people who had to avoid the Ex because of the hurricane. I'm not at all sure why you object to this more or less benign statement. Skullpitter

Whatever happened to the QEII Theater...connected to the Press Bldg., which also housed the administration in 1977 and 1978 when I produced a show called "Ghosts of the Globe" there? As to photos, many more could and should be included....perhaps in thumbnail fashion...and also of Ontario Place, which is mentioned in the article and in spite of purists, is essentially part of The Ex.

Yeah, um. It's not part of the Press Building, it's part of the Queen Elizabeth Building. And it's still there. Skullpitter

Windmill?

[edit]

This article mentions nothing about the fact that as part of a new "Green Toronto" plan, a windmill was insatlled on the grounds, with plans to build two more before 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.142.235.30 (talkcontribs)

I haven't been to the Ex in so long :-( But please do add any pertinent information. I'm sure there are plenty of references for future "Green" plans. Flibirigit 19:04, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What Happened?

[edit]

This article really needs to be cleaned up... there's all kinds of ridiculous weirdness that wasn't here before. There's one, and only one, "Exhibition Stadium," the rest were Grandstands. There's now all kinds of weird choppy writing... I'll have to go through this article, it's gone right to poo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.224.197.160 (talk) 00:52, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exhibition Loop (TTC)

[edit]

I think the material in Exhibition Loop (TTC) should be integrated into this article. Reggie Perrin (talk) 20:23, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I don't think so. Part of the reason, it seems to me, that Exhibiton Loop has its own article is that when the CNE is running, and other high-traffic occasions, it functions as an independent station with a collector on duty and the like. Otherwise, you could just as easily make a point to integrate Exhibition GO Station into this article. GTD Aquitaine (talk) 16:24, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Race Course

[edit]

Although only peripherally relevant, I believe the list of Canadian circuits to host IndyCar/Champ Car races is incomplete at Champ Car, as far as I know, raced at Mosport as well. But that's hardly important and I wonder if this part could simply be deleted anyway. Rwintle (talk) 02:56, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

for now, I've added Mosport Rwintle (talk) 15:27, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Were the two Women's Buildings?

[edit]

... because the article makes it seem so, stating that one was completed in 1957 by Peter Dickinson (the one I'm sure about it) but another, lower down in Exhibition_Place#Demolished_buildings_and_attractions, was stated to have been built in 1908. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 23:33, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to this CNE quiz, the 1908 Women's Building was "built in 1908 as an addition to the Manufacturers Building". So the 1957 building probably replaced the 1908 addition to the Manufacturers Building in function, even though it wasn't demolished upon the completion of the new building. A.Roz (talk) 06:02, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The original Women's Building was designed by George Gouinlock, who made most of the older structures that still exist, and it went up in flames with the Manufacturers' Building in 1961. The 1957 Women's Building became the Queen Elizabeth Building before it actually opened, so there were never really two of them. 70.29.2.61 (talk) 03:39, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
